there is some research you could do on this to come up with very real answers. Both Australia and Great Britain have adapted this strategy and violence... especially crimes committed using a fire arm have drastically gone up. It is a matter of simple common sense... if your a criminal and the fear that a law abiding citizen will have a fire arm to protect their family or store were gone... would you be less or more embolden to commit crime?

In the 1920s the Federal Government tried to ban alcoholic beverages. We know how well that little experiment worked out. Since the 1930s the Federal Government has used increasingly strict tactics and legislation to fight a lost cause called "the war on drugs." This policy has been a disaster. If the Feds try to make all rifles and handguns illegal, the results won't be any better. In the US military academies and in OCS (Officer Candidate School) officer candidates are taught to never give an order that you know will not be obeyed... for as soon as you do, you have lost all moral authority. Seems like the Federal Government should learn this lesson.

Well cents you cand speel, eye hope you donut hav won.

The 2nd amendment is part of the US Constitution, so therefore they cannot outright ban firearms. It is not a good idea, because the citizens would not be able to protect themselves from the predators. I have a right to protect myself, my family and my property. The government can't be there to do it all the time.

I would be expecting political correctness to become militant thought control & I would be expecting a left wing tyranny.

I would be saving up my dollars to move to a new country. Of the countries that had the right to bear arms & later had it stripped, almost all of them experienced overbearing governments at best and tyranny at worst.

I think this would be one of the stupidest things the US could do. People say that if guns were banned, then the convicts would not be able to get them. This is dead wrong. The only people who would not be able to get them is the people who are trying to protect themselves and their families. Not to mention the affect it would have on America's hunters.

Guns are illegal in Sudan, which has the worlds highest murder rate.We already banned rape, prostitution, drug use,and child molesting....Did it help any ??
Banning guns only keeps guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens....the ones who SHOULD have guns.Ever hear of a murder at a gun show ??? I didn't think so...

You think criminals will give up their guns? You think thousands won't be smuggled into the country?

Taking guns out of the hands of responsible citizens while keeping them in the hands of criminals is just a poor, poor idea.
