I think, "Wow, can you believe she/he is gone? What a great actor/actress." And then I thank God for the time they were here on Earth.

Legally you are allowed to watch R rated movies when accompanied by a parent. You are well with in the law to see a movie at home and at a theatre when accompanied by an Adult. Do you feel uneasy watching some of the movies with your folks? Do tell them your source of discomfort. Your parents think you are mature enough to handle the material in the movies. May be your are not. Now coming to your question regarding teenagers watching R rated movies. I'm sure that there are some who do it and they are the ones who "brag" about it in school. Why should that bother you. Your parents realise that and take you for movies that they hope you will enjoy. Don't shake that trust. You have a R rated movie. Possession is not illegal. Watching it without a parent is. Enjoy responsibly!

Nah--no more than seeing a painting done by Van Gogh or a photo of Einstein. The person is leaving behind his/her legacy. After all, how can future generations appreciate Gone With The Wind, The Wizard of Oz or It's a Wonderful Life? They haven't been around during those actors' lifetime.

I might think for a second, "Wow.. this person is no longer walking the face of the earth." It takes me aback for a minute, but then I get over it because really.. aren't we doing exactly what that actor/actress wanted? We're sitting there glued to a screen watching THEM. I'm sure most would tell you that that's what made them happy. Entertaining us. So no.. I don't feel strange about it. :)

I feel that way kinda also. I feel a bit sad that they will never be any thing else but that character. At least to me since I did not know the actor/actres.
How about The Wizard of Oz? I dont think anyone is alive from that film.

I feel worse when I watch a movie with a dead actor in it who I remember growing up watching.
When John Ritter died a few years ago, I felt very weird watching Three's Company and 8 Simple Rules because I grew up watching him.
When I see older movies with actors I don't remember being alive (John Wayne, for one.) it doesn't hit me as much.
It is great for them and their families to have such a lasting tribute like a good movie or TV series. Everyone should have something like that to be remembered by.

I feel exactly the same way as you! I agree, it is definitely weird. Like whenever I watch a movie with Don Knotts, it's weird, because it's footage of him alive, and he's dead, and it's just a concept that I can't process through my mind. It's just like on home videos-I see my grandpa on them [he died in 2003], and I hear his voice, and remember, and that's the only way I can ever see him alive again, without him being alive. It's such a simply complex concept for me to process though my mind.

I have a hard time watching them, just because it makes me sad sometimes to see the person and know that they're dead now
