Try the song "Vesti la giubba" from the opera "I Pagliacci". The composer is Leoncavallo.

Also try the song "Habanera" from the opera "Carmen" by Bizet.

I've been listening to an awesome opera compilation called "The Ultimate Opera Collection." You would probably find a number of great opera songs you like on the compilation.

Good luck!

I'd suggest getting an Andrea Bocelli album so you can learn a bit more about different operas. Opera has been around for almost 400 years so it's kind of hard to pick the best songs without knowing what you like!

Pavarotti: Greatest Hits has a good sampling of excerpts from famous operas. This would be a good place to start.

"La Donna e Mobile", from "Rigoletto"

"Miserere" from "Il Trovatore" (That's IL, nit ii)

And just about anything from Gilbert and Sullivan because it's in English and it's funny!
