I'm from the US (Texas) and love watching BBCA. Watching a show called How clean is your house? the ladies often mention washing up liquid. Is this dishwashing detergent or detergent usually marketed for floors, tile, tubs, etc.?
Thanks

Washing Up liquid = Dishwashing Detergent.... IMPORTANT NOTE... this contains Glycerine (the stuff for dry hands etc) which is why 'its kind to your hands' etc. NEVER, EVER use any dishwash liquid to clean carpets, it will leave a sticky film of glycerine, then pick up all the dirt imaginable.

It's Kim and Aggie's favorite cleaning product!!! It's simply liquid dishwashing detergent. I'm so happy to see other fans of this show. It's the greatest, and I'm a true addict of it. Never miss it!

I LOVE that show!!!! I set the DVR to record it every time it is on....then I watch it every day when I sit to nurse my son. I love hearing all the different terms for everything. I love how they refer to washing dishes as the "washing up" and dish soap as "washing up liquid". Another of my favorites is Bicarb of Soda (baking soda). Kim and Aggie ROCK!!!

Thanks for asking this, I've been wondering myself.
Funny name, washing up seems like it would be for bathing.
