If you have System Restore, you can use this to restore your pc to a date when it was functioning properly. From the start menu, look under all programs, accessories, system tools. Just in case your start menu and icons become inactive again during restore, do a System Restore in safemode. (turn off your pc, and turn it back on again, press F8 repeatedly and uses arrow keys to choose safe mode) In System Restore, pick a date in bold on the calender & choose a time, your pc will be restored to the way it functioned on that date and time.

** I've had mine do the same thing, System Restore took care of it.

Tell us more about this FD release. Is it a sample release or limited introductory edition?? If it ain't a full or upgrade version then maybe it's a limited edition that is only meant to work for a short time.

i think fd is the version for laptop, most posible the fd stands for floppy disk usb version. lets go back to your computer, whats the specks for your computer. whats your memory? hard disk drive? whats your processor?

the minimum requirements of windows xp
at least p3
at least 64 mb ram
at least 2.0 gb hard disk

if you are at the minimum level, well, it explains that sometimes it slows down.

Does it happen both online and offline? Does it happen after a random or fixed time? Does it happen when you do something specific? Have you checked your task manager to see if there are an y unknown programs running?

In short, what have you done to attempt to isolate and fix the problem?

Do you have anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-adware and firewall software? Are they up-to-date and running?

It could be a number of things.
It could be a virus or spyware. you could need more ram, you might need a safe and simple shareware/freeware program to clean your registry.
Try going to a freeware/shareware site and searching for a free diagnostic tool.
