I thought it was uncomfy for guys because it... squished their parts.

I guess I never really thought about it before, but now that you ask it does seem kind of feminine only because the majority of women cross their legs in that manner. But if you think about it, then women who cross their legs as most men do (with their ankle on top of their other knee) could be termed masculine behavior.

No, on occasion I do. It may be assumed feminine because the typical man with larger thighs and maybe diminished flexibility can't. I agree with the above comment that the rest of body posture telegraphs feminine sexuality. Just crossing at the knee is Ok, unless it's crossed again at the ankle.

Good question Spun, well I think it depends on HOW they cross their legs. If the guy is really skinny and his legs touch all the way down to their ankles, it looks fem. If just a typical guy does it, like while reading the paper- eh, not that bad. If they swing their leg- oh, no that's way too fem.
I tend to see men dressed in suits crossing their legs a lot.
Oddly enough, come to think of it, my husband wears suits and I've never seen him cross his legs.(he plays hockey)
I also think older gentlemen can get away with it as opposed to younger.
My ex, who I am friends with, is very thin and he crosses his legs (he's 35). It looks strange because he wears all black and biker boots- but for some reason it seems ok. Probably because I know he is just trying to be comfortable.(he's also very sensitive)
Eh, ya got me. I have never really thought about it.

Just a simple crossing of the legs, no. What makes it feminine in appearance is the rest of the body posture.

I do. I believe there should be things that are uniquely men's, and there should be things that are uniquely women's. I am sick of people with agendas and the media all pretending that we are alike.

I wonder if the purpose of crossing the legs at the knees is to limit access to the reproductive organs. If crossing one's arms is considered defensive, isn't crossing the legs at the knee also defensive? It does make you wonder that if women are considered the sexually-receptive partners, then maybe men who cross their legs like this consider themselves to be the sexually-receptive partners of men.

I think it depends on what class this person belongs too. Im not sure why, but some of my wealthier friends can pull it off.

I used to, but I have seen some very unfeminine men do it too.

I never really thought about it. Maybe they just find it more comfortable.
