No, I do not. God needs my love, not my money. I help out people and animals all the time because I want to, not because some church tells me I have to.

Most Christian religions need donations to keep things going for their parish or congregation. A "tithe" is one-tenth of one's income, but congregations typically accept whatever a person can afford. I don't know of any denomination that demands contributions.

Tithing is mentioned in both the old and the new testament of the Bible. Abraham paid his tithes to Melchizedec, for instance.

Many people give money generously to their churches, synagogs, and/or temples for what they believe to be good works within their communities. It is a very common religious practice.

As one suggested, God does not need our money. But, to carry out God's work, money helps good people perform good works.

The Bible says you are supposed to give 10 percent off the top, meaning first, from your gross salary. We find we have just as much as if we didn't give, because when we don't something always, and I mean ALWAYS, happens that takes at least that much and usually more!
