OK, first: Are you a defensive player or offensive player? Get that in your mind, do you like hitting or running away? DO you like to show off those moves or do you like to show up someone and knock someone out. OK, have that in mind.
Defense: If your strong already for middle school (Bench: 135+ Squat 205+) you can do pretty much any position on D unless your slow, If slow, then probably a LB(linebacker), or D-Line, depends on the other kids size also). If your fast, and strong, then a Corner, Safety or LB. It depends on how the coach sees you.
Offense: As I said, what do you have, speed, strength or both? If you have a good arm and can throw at LEAST 35 to 50+ then go for QB. If you are light on your feet, and DON'T want to get hit running at someone, then a speed back, depending on size, tail or full back. If you are fast and like to catch the ball fake out peeps on routes and show off some speed before someone can catch you, go to receiver. I'm not too sure about the Lineman spot, you should at least be 170 for that position, you need to big for that position. And not being rude, if worst comes to worst, be the manager, you can still see the action, but if not, then play as hard as you can and the coach will take care of ya. Hope this helps, and good luck!

It depends on your age and the size of those on your team. If you are playing in middle school, you might be middle sized and maybe a good linebacker. I'm 5'5'' and about the same weight and I'm a corner and safety, but I play for the NWFA (National Women's Football Association) and there is a wide range of sizes and talents. Are you better at offense or defense? There are too many questions that need to be addressed to answer this question. Chances are the decision will be up to the coach, not you so you probably won't need to worry about it. Your coach should have a trained eye at putting you in the position that best suits you and the team. Good luck!

You're close to me 5'6" 145. I play Running back and linebacker for my school so you might consider these. I can bench 170 and squat 250 so if you're close to these then you should be pretty fast and should be able to easily start at those 2 positions. If you're not that strong consider being a speed back, if they have that at your school. Backup wide receiver would be good also because you're not tall enough to be a starter. For defense try weak side backer. I played it in middle school and you don't have to be super strong, just pretty fast. If you can make any other psotion on defense go to where every one else ends up-cornerback. Coming from a freshman, nut it might help

Id say anything but O or D-line just because of your size. Quarterback would only be an option if your team is going to primarily run the ball and do option plays.
