x+ (x+2) = 96
2x + 2 = 96
2x = 94
x = 47
x+2 = 49

integers:
x
x+2 (because if you have an odd # you have to add 2 to get to the next, consecutive, odd number)

sum means add so:
(x) + (x+2) = 96
2x +2 =96
2x = 94
x=47

x+2 =
47+2 = 49
