The planet Earth was discovered in 1954 in Lansing, Michigan, by the entertainer Eartha Kitt. That's why it's named after her.

It was discovered by Glornak, holder of the rings of Nebulac in the Tau Ceti system, during the 4363rd cycle. Any student with a 2nd stage cerebral implant knows that!
It was named for the ruler of the planet's feline race, Eartha Kitt.
