i completetly agree with you!!! People just show how stupid they are sometimes. Cause i think basic things you just have to know, i don't say you have to know about everything and each country, but at least about the big ones, and those most powerful.

Well, what can i say, when i studied in the USA i got noticed that most people doesn't know anything outside their country, maybe it's a lack of studings in the school. The just don't study since 6th till 10th geography like we do in Russia. Their schools studings are much easier then in Russia. I don't say it's not good, just easier but more interesting!

good luck

I can understand why you are irritated but the questions are asked because the people in the US for the most part really do not know much about Russia. Up until the 1990's we were not allowed to visit there and did not really know what went on inside the country's boarders.
A lot of what we see is on the history channel and it is mainly of the war and shows a lot of Stalingrad. Where it was very cold and there was a lot of snow. So people are under the influence it is always cold and snows in Russia.
Also, we see a lot of what went on during the Stalin years so that is another thing that influences people thinking here.

I have been to Russia twice and have enjoyed it very much. The one thing I have learned is how much people everywhere are similar. My fiance grandfather thought if he spoke slow and loud in Russian I would understand him better. The exact same thing I have done here in the US trying to talk with some one who does not speak English.

Just remember most people are asking because they really do not know and want to learn about life in Russia.

hello my friend. As for me I am getting more irritated when some people ask why Russians hate Americans and want to start war or who will win in the war Russia-America. When I lived in USA I had to tell that i am from Russia because most of people did not know about Ukraine. I believe we are doing good educational job when answer about snow and seasons in Russia.

I Think it's pretty dumb, I mean it's like where ever you live, duh, of course it has stores, and snow, its in the Northern Hemisphere. I think people should think before actually asking their questions. And the seasons in Russia are the same, spring, fall, summer, winter, all the seasons other people have, maybe not at the same time, but of course they have it. The whole world, and every continent, and every country has seasons, that would be like taking Russia off and putting it into space with no axis rotation. Wow, this is a long answer.
