When you dine in at a restaurant do you get annoyed when the waiter escorts you to the table that is next to other customers? The Diner is practically empty, yet they escort you to the table so that you can try squeezing out from behind that big fat guy behind you everytime you get up.

They just dont want to travel all over the place to serve you. It dont really bother me.

No. What really annoys me is when the bartender says I can sit anywhere only to have the waiter ask my girlfriend and I to get up and move closer to the other customers five minutes later. They do that so the place doesn't look empty.

Try having to sit at the same table with a stranger or having someone stand there and wait for you to get done. That's annoying.

I always ask for a booth. Always. If none are available, I'll request the private dining room. Most restaurants (that are not franchises) have one, even if they do not advertise it.

I think we are seated according to the waitress on duty, and her area of the restaurant.

im sure its qjuite frusterating though..
possibly ask for a differnet table next time..?
my guess would be its easier for them to serve if ur closer together.. but who knows/:DD

i HATE that. i have asked to go to other tables. i don't need to be on the other side of the room, just not in a stranger's calamari.
