So nobody answered your question.

It was early in the season when Future Hiro came back in time to tell Peter Petrelli that he had a message for himself. he told Peter to tell himself when Peter saw Hiro next "Save the cheerleader save the world." This was on a subway car. Future Hiro bent time to tell Peter this message. Peter was the only one who could see Hiro as he could link his power to Hiro's.

At any rate they saved the cheerleader who turns out to be related to Peter and in turn saves him. Nathan however has been told that Peter will die after the election so that will blow up New York soon.

Expect the answer to saving the world to be in the sketch pad Isaac gave away. I think the key to saving the world is in that book.

Of course, Linderman has one idea on the subject and that is why he stole Micah telling him that he would save the world. That can only mean that there is a combination or device some where that Linderman cannot solve or open. Micah should be able to make things work.

but that has nothing to do with the cheerleader and seemingly no connection to Hiro who thought saving her was so important to the future of mankind.

As some may have deduced from Nathan's question, Peter having met Clare may be able to blow himself up and then reform himself. Of course what people might have missed is that Ted is heading to New york as well, and; Peter is an empath, so he might have seen what will happen to Ted and not to himself, though it seems impossible given Simone was alive in that vision. Perhaps Linderman brought her back to life. At any rate, ted could be the one to blow up the world and not Peter.

Here is a thought, Clare distracts Bennett, Parkman and Sprague from accidentally blowing up the world when Ted gets angry. Instead of an explosion Ted lets lose of one of those EMPs and destroys the bomb Linderman may be using Micah to set. I am guessing a nuclear bomb. Of course that would mean Linderman would have to be in New York as well.

I truly can not understand the way his people get around from Texas to Nevada to New York in no time at all. That one will keep me wondering for a while.

Save the cheerleader, and Peter survives.

Peter so far has survived to interact with just about everyone, past and future. His doing so is key in saving the world. Not quite sure how yet, but sure just the same.

It's not ending, by the way. It's just Season One that's nearly over, like most everything else on the Big Four.

When they saved the Cheerleader at the school they did save the world. Did you see the episode when the fire bomb guy got shot in her house and he couldn't control his power and he was going to explode, she took the shot walked up to him and gave it to him to calm in. She was the only person who could do this cause she heals. There for she saved the world.
