Yes, they are basically on the same status as a citizen. All the prior mass murders have been committed by white men. If we follow your logic would we then ban white men from the right to bear arms?

Depends on what you think the word "people" means.
Actually, the Constitution doesn't only apply to citizens. The 2nd Amendment says "A well-regulated militia, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
The 14th Amendment says "No state shall deny any person...equal protection of the laws," so everyone who says legal residents should not be allowed to have guns, but claims that "law abiding citizens" are authorized guns by the 2nd Amendment is being hypocritical. The writers of the Constitution weren't even natural born citizens, they were British subjects (before 1781)! And even Tories who hadn't supported the Revolution had the right to bear arms guaranteed by the US Constitution (and the Constitutions of the States.)
LEGAL resident aliens should have the right to bear arms if any other individual does.

If they are here legally and can pass the background check then I say yes. Many people come to this country to hunt because the country they live in will not allow it. Guns are not just for people to shoot people with. Hunters use them as a tool. Now I know alot of you tree hugging PETA fans are going to say that guns are not necessary and that hunting should be abolished but thats not going to happen. There are many ways for me to take a deer but a gun is the quickest and most humane. Oh and btw...the 2nd ammendment has nothing to do with hunting anyway.

The rights guaranteed under the American Constitution protect American Citizens. An alien by definition is not necessarily guaranteed all the same rights.
But they can arm bears...

The rights of the American people have been interpreted wrong for many years. Americans have the right to bare arms, which legalizes short sleeve shirts.
If various animal rights groups get their way, and human rights are, indeed, given to animals, we will have armed bears. (donkeys, lions, elephants, etc)

Well, it really depends on who "the people" are.
If the object is to preserve the ability to resist tyranny, then "the people" are probably citizens, but if that's the case, what does that same phrase mean in the Fourth Amendment?
And why is the Fifth Amendment phrased differently, not referring to "the people" but to "persons"?
No, I don't think non citizens have the right to bear arms, nor are they protected from "unreasonable searches and seizures" but they ARE protected against self incrimination.

Let bring back the Wild West Days...Shoot em up! Shoot em up! Bring back saloons, Cat-houses (ehheemmm I mean social clubs) real poker games and gunfight duels in the streets for stepping on my shoes and dirty looks. Cowboy hats for everyone...black hats and white hats. I love it...GUNS for everyone. The quickest draw is the law.

No and I never have. Some people think resident, and even illigal aliens deserve every right that US citizen has. These liberal Americans are the biggest danger to our society. More Americans are finally catching on to this now.
