Alright I have to add my two cents. As it is possible to have a snake when pregnant and with a small baby, I think the risks are too high for all three (you, your baby and the snake). I'm sure that while you're pregnant you'll be able to care for it just fine. My worry is that snakes are a big responsibility and so is a baby and your top priority is (or should be) your baby. The snake may actually become neglected or not have the best care possible; this is where the risk for the snake is. You, being pregnant, raises the chance of catching diseases like salmonilla which is bad for you and the baby. The risk for the baby is that the snake may get out (almost all do sooner or later) and may hurt the baby. The baby also might touch the snake or something and then put his/her hands in their mouth and get sick. Babies and very curious, especially when they become able to crawl and explore and your snake would be something they'd want to explore. I'd wait until your child is about 4 or 5 and is able to understand that they have to be careful around the snake and wash their hands when they're done playing with it (with your supervision, of course). This holds true for all reptiles. There's a little less chance of the child getting harmed with a turtle but the chances are still there and turtles are really labor intensive.
Hope this helps!

I think you shouldn't because what if that snake attacks the baby! Maybe you shouldn't wait until your baby gets a llittle older ok! I feel so bad for you since you are allergic to a lot of animal hair! I am soo sorry!

I wouldn't if you are pregnant. Salmonella is common in reptiles.
""Children under the age of 10 years and immunocompromised people seem to be especially prone to infections with reptile-associated Salmonella spp. and often experience severe clinical courses, including fatalities due to septicemia and meningitis."
Snakes are great pets and would be fine around the baby as long as you supervised interaction. The child could potentially do more damage to the snake!

i would not recommend it because Reptiles Carrie Salmonella which can be fatal to anyone (especially the very young or very old (5 and under and 60 and over, depending on health in older people))
If you do decided to get one MAKE SURE to WASH your hand thoroughly after you touch your snake and make sure your baby does NOT come in contact with anything the snake has touched!

As long as it's secure extremely well, but what about when the child is older and wants to handle everything? Bichon Frise are small and gentle dogs, with woolen coats (allergy free) and love to be around humans. All the best

I wouldnt
Salmonella is common and not good around small kids. Im not saying that you wouldnt wash your hands but you never know. Plus I dont know if I would want another pet when I had a baby.

As long as you buy one that isnt really that big in general size, and something to keep it from where the baby wont be able to get it (he might kill it/choke on it, etc.), then i dont really see what could happen.

I think it's fine AS LONG AS:
You make sure it stays isn its cage
You make sure the baby doesn't play with it
You get a small, non-poisonous snake
You don't let your baby touch he/she until it is old enough.
