As a kid, I was taught :
Hate means you honestly believe the world would be a better place with out it.
Don't like means you its not something you enjoy, but understand that other people do.

don't like just means that you don't harbor pleasant feelings, but it doesn't amount to detest. on the other hand, hate is a very strong hostile feelings

hate indicates a stronger form of not likeing. don't like is a lesser degree of not likeing something.

don't like means you can still tolerate them to a point.. Hate means you can't even stomach them a little
