There is no way to make money fast. If you think being a drug dealer or a prostitute is easy, you are very wrong.

I dropped out of school and ran away when I was sixteen.
I am now 40 years old (in July) and am just starting to make enough money to support myself.

I lived on the streets for years.
When I finally got to living indoors, not just sleeping on people's couches I was in my mid 20's.

I always had to share one room with another person. The bathroom was always down the hall and junkies always kept dying in the bathroom.

I was so poor I panhandled everyday after getting off working $6 an hour jobs just so I could pay rent AND eat.

Five years ago, at 35, I finally found employment where I could work my way ahead in a business I enjoy with out the benefit of a high school diploma.

I have had my own place for 2 years now. The bathroom is still down the hall but it's clean and I never find needles in it.

Try as hard as you can to stay home and stay in school or be ready to spend 25 years getting to where a 25 year old should be.

In no way is this a good plan. Trading a warm home, food, and flawed Mother for prostitution, homelessness and an extremely uncertain, perhaps tragic future?? Sorry...but what are you thinking?? You are not thinking. You are probably frustrated, angry and just reacting. You need a clear plan and not something that is not thought through. Get yourself back into school. Go to the school and talk to them. Get an education. Get a part time job. Being in school will give you access to advice, and opportunity. Unpack the backpack and get over to the school. Talk to them about your problems. This is not the path for you. You need to pull back. Control the impulse to run. Get some help and advice. Walk out the front door and go to the school Talk to the school about your problems, they can help and direct you to the assistance that you need. Sometimes you have to do it yourself. There is something between putting yourself in a dangerous situation and doing nothing to change it .....Do it now!

Look, if you want a future for yourself then stay home, your dad is only trying to help although you won't realize that until your my age....32! I ran away from home a few times and then realized my dad(Army drill Sgt.) was really looking out for my best interest. Go to summer school if you have to and get a job where you live. See a councilor and work things out. I don't suggest leaving home unless abuse is the reason and it doesn't sound like it is. Try to see things from your dad's poi int of view and good luck. Don't leave, it will break your parents' heart. You will understand once you become one...

Sweet heart. It is not going to be any easier in NY than it is where you are at now.

Yes your dad could pull you out of school... but it's up to YOU what your school years are going to be like and how you are going to deal with it.

I have no way of knowing what your current home life is like so I can't say you are being dumb for having a bad school experience or you or your dad is right or wrong.

But once you leave home it is going to be soooooo very much harder to get it 'right'. Do your family in NY know you are havig problems? Are they willing to help you out? How close are the family in NY?

Ok. so I'm guessing you and your dad are having problem... Seems that today many have issues with their parent in one or another.

I do know this that parent only really want the best for their kids. They really hope they will succeed and do the very best.

I would recommend you go to your dad and tell him, "Gee dad, I screwed up. I want another chance. And I will do the very best I can to be the very best."

Hang in there... leaving home can really be harder than staying.....

Good Luck and you can email anytime you want.

Once upon a time I learned that it doesn't matter where you live, it's how you live that really counts. You sound like an intelligent person (except for a few misspellings) and realize that your education is important. You mentioned going to Brooklyn and buying clothes for school and wanting a job. That's great. It sound like you have some goals and goals are what's important for you to achieve success. Keep at it. Moving to Brooklyn isn't going to make school any easier for you. If you don't apply yourself to studying then it's not going to help to go to school where you are, in Brooklyn or in Walla Walla. You've got to plan things better than just floating from school to school, home to home or goal to goal. Sign yourself up for Summer School and tell your Dad that you are going to make it. If you take initiative to show him you are going to do something to improve your situation, you will get further than just making blind promises. The definition of insanity is someone who continues the same behavior expecting a different result. You've got to grab your school books, ask for help from teachers or friends or family, sign up for summer school, and apply yourself to reaching the goals but first you have to set the goals and make them realistic. Listen to Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, "there's noplace like home."

Well, leavin home, huh? Welcome to the real world. You dont make money fast here. Get a job, and trust me, you wont make enough to go anywhere. Or start doing better in school, then you can go to college, and start working towards what you really want to be.talk to your dad, get help in school, you'll be a lot better off.
