One way to put songs right directly on to your Ipod is to set it up that way in the beginning. When you set up your limewire it will ask you where to send your files, it automatically sets up with shared files, unless you choose otherwise. I am not positive if you can change it, but I do remember seeing something that says you can after all is said and done. If you would like to check back in 2 hours I will let you know. I am not home right now, my Corvette is getting a check up, and I want to see what has to be done. When I get home I will look in my Limewire and see if the is any way we can change it. The only thing about it is if you want to save to your Ipod, you must always have it hooked up, or change the config. everytime you don't want to or want to save right to your Ipod.
I appologize for the late answer. I don't own an Ipod, I do have a generic mp3 player. I am able to assign where my files go. If you would like to find how to do it, then open up limewire, once it installs click on tools on the top bar, then options. It will open a window, more than likely it is already in the spot where you need to be. But if it isn't click on sharing to the left. Then where it states "you can choose where your saved files go to. Click browse, then click on the file with the arrow three times, you should be at "my computer" you can try to click on the d:/drive, and press enter, but because I own a generic mp3 player, I only kow this will work for me and not if it will work for you. Good luck.

My brother uses Limewire and all he has to do is transfer the songs he picks to his iTunes library and then can put them on your iPod. We've had Limewire for quite awhile and nothing bad has has happened, soooo....good luck!! i don't think anything will go wrong.
P.S. I THINK this is how my brother does it...if I'm wrong, I'm SO sorry!

Use the itunes music store. Better quality, easier and you wont get the RIAA knocking at your door.

No, iPod syncs with your iTunes software on your PC. You cannot bypass this.
