The experience of death releases us from death itself, and then it is life for ever !
There are 'guided meditations' even now available in eastern countries where spirituality evolved big way, even centuries ago, to solve this !

Death is unavoidable, it is the limit to life. Just as freedom would be worthless without some sort of rules or limits, life is not worth much without death. If life on earth were to last eternally, waht would goals be? What would accomplishments mean? Much less, to be sure. Death allows the time given to live to be cherished, becuase everyone knows that this time won't last forever. Think inflation. If we had infiite time in life, it would be like having near infinite money in an economy. Everything would depreciate; life would not be valuable. Death allows life to be lived in a given degree moderation, in consideration, and in a finite amount of time. Without death, life really is nothing.

To me, it means that what is positive can only exist with the negative tagged along. The statement assumes the purported reality of life: that is, everyone dies, etc. However, my life philosophy is to always keep an open mind, and to not assume ANYTHING. Therefore, I disagree with the statement.

If you die while you alive, whether it be a near death experience, metaphorically, metaphysically, or simply through thought, I do believe that that release of care, worry, egotistical positioning, will empower you to do what your true purpose is.

I disagree.
Kill yourself and then tell me how that "life" experience is going for you.

It is talking about dieing to yourself and gaining a new life in Christ. You no longer live for yourself but you live for Jesus Christ. It's really cool!

this means that only when you have a taste of a life far worse than yours will you learn to appreciate the life that you have.

Physical death leads to eternal life, if you are saved through believing in Jesus Christ.
While here in this life on earth, it is better to choose the things that lead to life (productive, constructive) rather than the things that lead to death (destructive).
But there is a death that leads to life, a productive, constructive death...Jesus referred to it by giving the example of planting a seed. He said (I'm paraphrasing here) that the seed has to "die" in order to bring forth life. So we too have to "die" to our selves in order to gain God's kingdom life.
This sounds scary for some people, like they are going to lose the person they really are, but it isn't like that at all. Just as a caterpillar experiences the little "death" of the cocoon and emerges a butterfly, so following Jesus makes us more truly our real selves. God designed us, and all the sin that is gunking up His design is chiseled off, like a sculptor chipping away a stone to reveal the beautiful statue within.
Dying to self means saying no to your carnal nature--the natural impulses of self-government. Joyce Meyer (www.joycemeyer.org) refers to it as the "soulish" realm, which she says is made up of the mind, the will, and the emotions ("what I want, think, and feel").
Instead of living based on my own ideas, opinions, and feelings, I submit all these to God's guidance, and live by the Holy Spirit's direction as much as possible. This "death" to self is really just following the Source of true Life, because our souls are dead apart from Jesus.
So to follow the self's leading leads to death, although it may temporarily feel like life (just like indulging in all your favorite fattening foods will lead to health problems even though they are tickling your taste buds). And to follow the Spirit's leading leads to life, although it may temporarily feel like death (because who likes to deny themselves?).
The primary example of death leading to life was our Savior Jesus on the cross. It looked like death had won, but it was all part of God's master plan leading to eternal life for all who will believe in Him and accept His sacrifice on our behalf.
Now that Jesus has risen from the dead, we say, "Death, where is thy victory? Death, where is thy sting?" Jesus, through His death, made a way for us to have the assurance of eternal life.
All you have to do is believe with your heart that He died to pay the penalty for your sins and rose to life again, accept this free gift for yourself personally, and confess with your mouth that you belong to Jesus.
God bless all who read this! He loves each one of you very much.
