towards the end of march i had my regular period and it went off on time, then about 4 days later i had another period it was about 3 to 4 days. last wednesday i started spotting then on thursday i had bleeding alot of blood with many blood clottes and this has been everyday..and i'm still on my period right now it never stopped since it started last wednesday and the clotting continued. Right now my stomach hurts sooo bad i've been cramping like crazy. I'm worried that maybe i might be loosing too much blood. do i have somethin serious to be worried about? i went to the doctor on the 12th of april after the first irregular period and the doc told me to keep up with the next one and write if its light or heavy, i have another appointment on thursday but i want to know what you guys think about this. PLEASE HELP!!! i'm confused, tired of having my period, and i'd like to know if any of you have had this happen to you.
thanks

What you are describing is certainly not normal. I would definitely phone your doctor first thing in the morning. After you describe the bleeding, he may want to see you before Thursday.

This bleeding that you are having now is breakthrough bleeding and it can act a lot like a menstrual period. This bleeding can sometimes be caused by an infection such as to the cervix.

I would definitely go ahead and call the dr tomorrow to let them know what is going on now even though you are due to see him on Thurs.

I'm having to go back to my dr as well for breakthrough bleeding issues which seem to be related to the medication I've been taking.

In the mean time try upping your iron levels by eating things like spinach, raisins, and peanut butter (if not allergic to peanuts of course). This may also help with some of the cramping that you are feeling. I found that it did for me when I would get the cramping bad like that.

It could be something as simple as a hormone imbalance. There are lots of things that could cause this...Endometreosis, a cyst...all kinds of things. I don't think it is serious though. You are doing the right thing by going back to the doctor. There are tests they can run to figure it out. Don't worry!
