He got booted while walking back from the mound after talking to his pitcher. He had shouted something at the umpire, presumably arguing some of the ball/strike calls that had been made.

To the guy above who said it's because younger umpires can't take the abuse: the umpire who tossed him, Joe West, has been a major league umpire since 1976. I don't think anyone would consider him "young".

i think it is because of the umpires. the older umpires will take a litle bit of talking but those younger umps are dumb and they freak out and throw the guys out
