Why is it that the UK has had a female PM, but the U.S has yet to have a female President?
What would be the reason(s) behind that?

With a queen ruling I think it is easier for the Brits to accept a woman in power plus England let women vote way before the Americans did. I think the majority of Americans are in favour of a patriarchal society anyway. Not all of them but the ones that actually get out and vote seem to be.

Women couldn't vote until 1920. They are just now catching up in the political arena. Hillary Clinton could be our first female president. Is she female though? That is debatable. So maybe we still won't have one.

The reasons would be that people from the us are afraid to have a female president because that would mean change

I'd make fun of the similarities between British men and women...but I'd get reported! Let's just say, in both cases, the voters chose who they felt was the best candidate for the job.

Because all the women worth voting for are out doing other things to help the world.

Because of sexist American pigs, plus nobody has ever gone the distance to become close to winning even.
Maybe one of these days someone (man or woman) will finally get the american govt. back on track, and then other issues can be addressed like womans rights....
like that will happen

why hasn't france or other countries around the world? no female canidate has ever been able to prove herself to atleast 51% of the voting population. but like france we now have one that could.

I've been wondering that myself.
I mean, if Arnold Schwarzenegger can be Governor of California, then a women should definitely be president eventually.

because usually politics and stuff have a lot of old white men and they're too stuck in the 1800's to figure out that women and African-Americans can actually be president. i would want to have black woman president to run and WIN! that'll be cool.
