I was wondering if it is legal to drive a go kart on the road, or if there is anything possible to make it legal in Pennsylvania. If there is a possibility, is there any way I can get my 13 yr old son to drive it. Legal proof online would be very much appreciated, but is not required for best answer. Thank you so much for your information!

Vehicles driven on the road must be registered according to the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, 75 C. P. S. § 1301. There are some vehicles that are exempt from registration, and they are listed in §1302 (this section has a long list of types of vehicles that are exempt from registration, and go karts are not on hte list.)

No, your kid can't drive a go kart on the road.

Sources are Pennsylvania Vehicle Code and regulations, see below:

A go kart is not equipped to be operated on a highway, nor is it licensed or have paid road use taxes. Some of the required equipment are: a windshield, wipers, brake lights, turn signals, seat belts just to name a few.

NO - it is NOT legal to drive on the road with a go Kart or ATV. Those are for backyards and NOT roads.

Its criminal as long because it is interior your territory like your outdoor or farm. Doing it interior the line is honestly unlawful. it is seen unlawful because of the fact bypass kart lacks the fundamental street dealing with and accident preventitive factors.

It would be illegal .... a go kart would not be a street legal vehicle in Pennsylvania ..... nor would he be licensed ... and you wouldn't want him to be. I believe you would only be able to use a gokart on private property.

It is only legal if you are driving it on your own private property.
But, you could ask some of your neighbors if it is ok with them if you drive around.
