John, the X-convict, told me himself that he was in San Quintin last summer (06) for embezzlement. He also conspired to assist my, then roommate, to steal expensive stereo and other equipment. (She's in jail for 7 months now.) After she was sent to jail I found John going through my stuff in the garage. BTW: John is my next door neighbor. Thoughts???

Report it to senior management... and the police... and document as much of it as you possibly can in case you need it for a court case. He NEVER should have been given this kind of position - maybe he is only saying that he is the property manager, and ISN'T - you need to make a few phone calls. Change the locks on your apartment and secretly label EVERYTHING.

Take her to Small Claims Court, suing for the deposit, interest, and all court costs. Present your receipt for the deposit, photos of the place when you moved in and when you moved out, and document your clean-up costs. As for being late with the itemized statement regarding the deposit, complain to your town's and state's housing board or housing authority.
