tampons - provide more versitle protection, such as u can swim using them and workout easier. also usually change less often than pads, like every 6 hrs or so. but some people won't use properly and select the light flow for light days and instead will try to use a heavy flow tampon and leave it in all day or forget to take it out at the end of period and this can lead to tss- but like i said this is rare and can be prevented by thinking and folowing directions. also make for a less messy time when u have to pee - the blood won't leave ur body till u take it out.
pads - more common in younger people, espicially if they haven't had sex before. more panty accidents here i believe, but if they work for u, fine. most people stick with these until later in life when they are acustom to having things inserted into the vagina(sex, pap smears, etc,). nothing invasive here. perhaps they are quicker to change too. also many people think if it is heavy they will use a pad or pantyliner anyway for back up for tampon.
my personal choice - tampons!

i think of they might use the two. Use tampons while wearing tight equipped clothing, thongs, and bathing suits. placed on pads while wearing mild colored clothing, clothing, and skirts. Use your reliable judgement while choosing what to placed on with what. yet while they do no longer decide to placed on the two, than pads are a actually reliable thank you to pass, given which you're no longer in possibility for that poisonous marvel syndrome as you would be wearing tampons (even nonetheless its a low possibilitiy). Plus it extremely is going to allow each and everything flow out freely instead of clogging it up. i observed while i exploit tampons and my era is meant to be over, there'll be an extra day or 2 of minimum recognizing from what the tampon has clogged interior. Plus in the event that they are heavy in this time, pads will take in each and everything so lots extra useful. yet another piece of advice is, in the experience that your friends are nervous with regard to the entire virginity factor and using tampons, tell them so which you may use tampons wether you're a virgin or no longer. It won't take their virginity away.

If you don't change your tampon as often as you could it could lead to toxic shock syndrome but this is very very rare these days. Tampons are much easier to use than pads not bulky at all. You can flush them down the toilet and then just dispose of the applicator. No messy pad to throw away. You can't go swimming with a pad but you can swim all you want with a tampon. Tampons are just more discreet comapred to pads too.

Toxic Shock Syndrome is rare but does happen in some women who use tampons. There is no serious risk like this associated with pads.

It's also possible to get a tampon stuck inside of you. This happened to my aunt, who had been using tampons with no problems for years. Her doctor had to get it out for her.

Some women believe tampons are more comfortable but other women never get used to having something stuck inside all throughout their period.

I think pads are more popular because they are "easier," that is you just stick them in your underwear. A lot of women do not like inserting things inside, especially the dry cotton of a tampon. Women who have not had intercourse before are especially sensitive to tampons.

They are called Tampons. They can cause toxic shock syndrome but it is not extremely common. Nothing can go wrong with pags health-wise but they are more uncomfortable. Tampons may hurt the first couple times insterted, but once you are used to them they are wonderful.

Tampons can be dangerous, and can make your periods painful…I have endometriosis, and I have a friend who had it (she had a hysterectomy) we both used tampons when we were in high school. I would only use them when swimming, etc…stick with pads they are safer.
