Political experience is not Obama’s only problem. He also lacks military experience. The current issue in Iraq is the primary concern of most voting Americans. It is safe to say that a majority of Americans would like to see the troops pulled from Iraq. The belief is that no progress is being made, and that too many U.S. lives are being lost. George W. Bush has no current plans to pull troops out of Iraq. He actually intends to send more. Americans are furious. Therefore, is now the time for a man with no military experience to enter office? If Obama took office in 2008 and the war continued, what would he do? If he were elected president and made the wrong decision about the war, he would be hated just as much as the current president.
CAN YOU HELP ME ADD TO THIS PARAGRAPH? PLEASE..

Your question is a good one but I gotta say you have over looked a few key facts ..... This President never served on ACTIVE DUTY (he was air national guard) and was never in any operations during his stint! I don't go solely on poll results, but when you read the newspapers, watch the news, hear what people have to say, and I do hear more people against staying longer in Iraq. All mention I hear of progress being made seems to only come from the white house (again -- progress reports from people who are not in Iraq) Who is to say when is a good time for a man with no military experience to enter office? But who is to say he cannot bring about a mutual resolution to the Iraq situation? Keep this in mind >>> sooner or later we (the United States) will have to allow the Iraqis to take control of their own security. A lot of people say a President is only as good as the people he surrounds himself with and listens too. My money says he won't do any worse than the current administration. Final point I do not hear W give any updates on the search Bin Laden.

yes I can.
While not having the necessary experience in order to ensure an adequate military solution to the travesty in Iraq, Barack Obama turned to people WITH demonstrable successful military experience drawing them from both sides of the aisle, Demoratic military supporters and Republican military supporters such as Generals Wesley Clarke, Colin Powell, Richard Zinni.
He did NOT want to make the same mistakes as was made by the inexperienced former Republican President. He felt that with such a heavy burden that was left by the previous administration, it was in the country's best interest to get political and military solutions that can be successfully implemented to arrive at a juncture where our boys in uniform can be redeployed.
America's reputation in the world has been greatly diminished. So with that in mind, military leaders from other countries were included in the decision making, not just listened to and ignored.
Edited 4/25/07 to add:
Obama has DONE actually just that. He has been in talks with General Colin Powell, someone who has demonstrable successful military experience.

A man with no war experience took us to war based on lies. How much worse can it get?
Dick Chaney had 5 deferments. Not too many of our present day members of washington have ever served.
Maybe if just one of them served in a war we wouldn't be where we are now?
Maybe it's just that America is a war products producing country and we have to use it up to make more money? If you make bombs you have to use them up.
We are a nation that is at war all the time. I'm sick of it.

Look at what having a President with no military experience got us into in Iraq.

Bush being more intelligent than most people give him credit for, chose to surround himself with some of the best military thinkers our country has to offer. Surprisingly, the new Liberal Democratic congress, chooses to believe that they are the best military thinkers, and have chosen to use the military as pawns in their political struggle to gain the Whitehouse.
Obama will choose to surround himself with people who at the moment are guiding the current new Liberal Democratic congress. The blind leading the blind. (no offense to blind people). Obamas inexperience will destroy our military and our country on the world stage. His small minded thinking, and his action of jumping on the Bush Bashing Bandwagon proves it. He is not a leader. He is a follower.
