I am a supporter of this, because I live in a mostly Mexican neighborhood in Oregon, and they ALL listen to rap. Ever single little kid listens to it, and in turn I hear them cussing each other out. Little kids aren't even SUPPOSED to know what those words are! They aren't supposed to know they exist! They aren't supposed to know what they mean! Nobody should! And these words can be offensive to EVERYBODY, and it just makes today's people worse than they already are! Cuss words aren't cool, they don't sound cool, they don't mean anything cool. And the fact that rappers use them make a false statement that they are cool, and okay to use. But they're not. Nobody should be hearing, using, or have any knowledge whatsoever of cuss words. I have more complex feelings about this that make more sense and give a better reason for why I support this ban, but they're too hard to type.

It is a con job from a first class hustler. He does not want to ban the words or censor the artists, he wants them to do what they already do, bleep the words on the clean radio versions. They already pretty much do that. No one will have to change anything, except a few radio editors will work a few more hours. Nobody loses any money and nobody changes any behavior and he looks like a reformer.

I think it has been a long time called for~ Too bad it took Imus saying what he said to perpetuate this. I think moguls like that are full of isht simply because they endorse these rappers then when the isht hits the fan and feelings are hurt, they get all Angela Davis and all... This is not all racial either, because women have been degraded so much so that women are desensitized... I've heard females sing along to Jay--Z's lyric "I dont love them, I eff them, I dont chase them, I duck them, I replace them with anther one" as if it is a woman's anthem... I just think this should have happened long ago.

Good luck to him, he's going to need it.
Freedom of Speech, and all that.
Don Imus being a d!ck has nothing to do with hip hop, rap, or any other kind of music.

Isn't he just suggesting it be bleeped out so it doesn't get played on the radio? At least that's what I thought he said.
I think rap is a very intelligent artform, but doesn't sound so intelligent when you put those words in it. I respect rap artists who know how to get their message out without being derrogatory toward others.

I think it is very good because now a days elementary school kids are saying things like "Wassup my ni***!" it should be banned. It is also a reflection towards society.

Is he also going to pull his Def Comedy Jam videos and give up the profits he makes off them...I hope not.....but I'm not sure he is sincere.....but I feel they should be allowed to say whatever they like in a song, so long as children arent exposed to it....and they dont get pizzed off at anyone saying it about them or their moms...daughters....wives....etc...

He's only talking about banning those words from "clean" versions of songs. You'll still be able to get your potty-mouth versions.
