When I restart my computer (Windows Me), it always appears in safe mode even when I select boot in normal mode. It appears that when I shut down in safe mode my computer never fully turns off. Does anyone known how I can get it to boot in Normal mode without going into safe mode?

I would do two things. First, unplug the power cord from the back of the computer, and wait 15 seconds before plugging it back in.
Then boot and strike the f8 key until you get the boot menu that allows you to select normal mode or whatever. Select the last settings that worked, and try it. If that doesn't work, I'd go ahead and boot into safe mode, click start, then run, the type

chkdsk /f

It will ask you if you want to run chkdsk the next time you boot and you should say yes. After chkdsk has finished you can try to boot into normal mode again. If you still can't get out of safe mode, use your system restore and go back to a time when it worked. Good Luck.

Well they usually boot in safe mode for a reason. Something is screwed up. You can hold down on the "F 8" key just as the computer is starting up and that gives you access to controls. You can choose to boot up in normal mode, but don't be surprised if it acts up.
If you've already done this suspect problems with ME.
It just doesn't work with most drivers and programs any more, and those darned Windows Updates will play heck with it.
