for separation of state and capitalism? If not, what else could we do to wrestle control of our nation back from the corporations?

Great idea whose time has come - but it's not as simple as that. If you try to control capitalism too much, you end up with Communism, and you can see where that got Russia.

On the other hand, reigning in the anti-American practices of Wal-mart and other billion-dollar corporations and banks, might not be a bad idea.

Communism is not the answer. Capitalism is not the answer. We need something that help's promote business, but at the same time keep business regulated. If we limited the power of
big business in this country and over small businesses I think It
would only be for the better... within limitations. We cannot limit
business too much, but big business can't be on a very long leash. Look at the 1800's big business was king. Do we want
that nowaday's no. Do we want another Soviet Union no, we must find the right recipe for our economy.

I also had to pay for insurance on my employees, Hollidays, maching funds for ss. All these thing cut into profits. Yes I made money but I also spent money. Try it some time. You may change you mind about us grubby old businessmen.

That would be the day that corp & state were separated.
The Corps will kill us.
We the consumer have the power to refuse the purchase.
The self centered American public will never do it. We want all of it. Could everyone really boycolt Walmart for a day. Imagine how you could bring a company to it's knees. Everyone cancel there cable TV in a day. Sure, we'd never do it.

Capitalism is free economy. There are controls, such as min wage and monopoly laws. If you want socialism, you are taking power away from business and giving it to the govt. Either way, you dont have control.

the liberals are well down that road. the only problem is someone has to pay for all the welfare mess they created and you will need capitalism to do that. its an ugly reality youll have to face, but a free lunch is a myth and capitalism, money and profit pays for things...sorry.
