Or is this just a blip on the radar in the age of movie-making?

'Cause I hate to say this: I have yet to see a double-feature done in this fashion.

And I'm a young 'whippersnapper' when it comes to this sort of thing. :0)

unfortunately it is probably a blip. but i have to give Tarentino credit for at least trying to recapture moviegoing as he experienced it as a youth.

as one of the above posters said, most people don't want to park their butts in the seats for too long. but it is their loss in my opinion--which actually translates into my loss because the studios will go along with them in this regard.

and i can actually remember triple features! we'd go in early saturday morning and come out late afternoon. ahhh, some of the best moviegoing memories i'll ever have.

Considering that Grindhouse bombed miserably at the box office, unfortunately, I don't think double-features will be making a comeback at least in the mainstream cinemas. (Not referring to small independent theaters which might do it occasionally. Not many people are willing to sit through three hours of film, unless its Lord of the Rings.

i believe that tarantino and rodriguez did a risky thing by doing the double feature and if anybody else attempts it, it wont work at all because it was their idea for the movie and thats what grind house is known for.
