Your body needs those first 6 weeks to recover from childbirth. That is why you are told to not do anything difficult. I think after that it is up to you and your husband. I know that it has been very helpful for everyone in my family that I am a stay at home mom. But if I was to work we would lose money (I would not be able to make enough to cover child care costs). I could work on the days my husband is off but then we would never be able to be husband and wife and we would never see each other. So 6 weeks or until the kids are in school, what ever is best for your family.

Whatever you feel like. With my first I was still in school so I went back within 10 days and he started daycare full time. I don't think I will do the same with the one. I only have a few classes a week so i will probably do a couple classes a week and no work for about 6 weeks.

Definitely at least 6 weeks. Any doctor will tell you at least that much. You will have stitches that need to fall out before you go back.
After that time, it really depends on what you do for a living. If you work behind a desk sitting down a majority of the day, you can return sooner than say a waitress who has to be on her feet and walking around all day long.
You really have to listen to your body after the six weeks is up. And if you have any questions, talk to your doctor.

That's up to you, and I would say it's not something you can really plan for until you have the baby. If everything goes well, and you are feeling good, and the baby is eating and not sick and taking a bottle (either formula or breastmilk) you can start a baby in daycare as young as 6 weeks, I think. I would not think of putting my baby in daycare before about 4 months, though.

I had planned on going back to work after 8 weeks. After my baby was born though we decided we couldn't leave this precious thing with anybody else! So I now stay at home.

At the earliest 6 weeks for a vaginal birth and 8 weeks for a c/s.
Honestly, take as long as you can possibly afford to take! This will give you time to recover and to bond with baby and establish breastfeeding. You can never get the time back once it's past.....stay home as long as you possibly can!

I'd say 12 weeks. I got married and had a baby before finishing college, so I stay at home, I couldn't make enough money to pay for daycare and all that. I love being with my son all the time, we plan for me to stay at home with our kids for along time.

It depends on how you feel. With my first, it took me three months (I loved the idea of being a new mom), with my second I went back after about three weeks maybe a little more. and I'm hoping to go back within three weeks after this one. I based it on how much money we had. I wasn't hurting for money with my first but I was with my second and we are now.
