some have a direct drive water pump right on the bottom,, and the seal will leak. Most have a clip of sorts that actually holds the pump in place,, and the drain hose is clamped on,, take a look,, there will be signs of leaking if it's the pump/

what kind of washer is it..our neptune six months into owning it...the seal broke at the door and water poured from underneath...sounds like a seal is broken or if its a barrel top load it could be the barrel itself..you def should call a repair guy..i do know you can pop the fronts off the old washers...try that see if you can see what it is..if its not a really new washer. or an expensive model..you might wanna think new one..the repair bill could be more than the washer is worth

well i would tip it up and look for where exactly it is leaking.theres a pump down there and i think it has two hoses.theres a seal on the pump shaft that could be leaking.i have had a pump crack before and leak out .i guess a good question is when does it leak any particular time ? i am not a repairman but i know that a call will lead to as much as a new one would cost. the only way to know is look at it .you might be able to go get a used one at an appliance repair shop for cheap.also an appliance parts store can be very helpful. i would call them first.they want to help you do it yourself.good luck

Seal leaking, most likely. The tub seal or some other lesser seal. Get a repairman out there and let him take a look at it. If it's the tub seal, it might be time for another washer.

I think it is the seal for the tub or agitator. It can be replaced but it will only buy you alittle more time if money is tight right now. Washers aren't very exspensive any more might want to start looking for a new one.

Replace it. It's likely an old one.
