The best conditions for life (as we know it) existing on a planet do not favor the largest stars or planets (either by weight or volume) nor the strongest gravity, nor the fastest rotating/orbiting. Biggest, strongest, and fastest in terms of astronomical bodies, are not the best fit for life.

In a rhesus monkey colony, the alpha males, biggest and strongest, actually father less babies than the more docile beta males. The beta males spend less time fighting and more time grooming the females so when the females are receptive to breeding, the familiar docile males are more likely to mate with them than the aggressive alpha males.

Recent DNA paternity tests done on elephant seals show that the huge aggressive males that fight and keep harems father less than 40% of the pups born to the females in their harems. The other 60% are fathered by smaller less aggressive males who mate with the females before they go to land.
