I want to ask this question, becasue I noticed katie leung(cho chang) from Harry potter and the Goblet of fire had no acting experience but made the part. The funny thing is, is that she was shy all throughout school, and never starred in a school play.

The chances are VERY slim. There are too many GREAT actors out there who have studied the craft to perfection and are very good. When a girl walks in without a clue and is compared with an experienced actor, the experience over rules unless there is some miracle. I hate to burst your bubble. But it's almost impossible for hundreds of people who have been extremely dedicated to acting to get a part. You need to do that too. Plus by gaining experience, you will not only learn the ropes, you'll learn to audition, meet people who can help you land jobs, and learn what to do in the chance that you land a part.

Do you want numerical odds?

The chances of someone with a lifetime of
acting experience getting the kind of exposure
that the Harry Potter stars are getting are
virtually none.

Remember that most actors do something
else to put bread on their table.

It isn't always about the acting. She have had the "look," they wanted for the role.

She and her family be friends of the producer, director, writer. Many factors go into someone getting a role. She could be related to someone involved in the production.

In show business, It's not what you know, it's WHO you know.

The chances are slim to none - but NOT impossible. When you hear stories about somebody with no experience making it big - the reason you are hearing the story - is because it is very rare and not the norm.

I dont have that much acting experience, but potential, i feel i do have. Being able to relate to others and take on emotions that suit the circumstance is something i'm good at. I have the looks and mentality that comes with being an actor...So yea, you just have to chase your goals, dont just follow it

The chance of that is actually not so bad. Evangeline Lilly (Kate Austen on lost) just auditioned because her friends told her to. she never tried it before. go for it because you never know what might happen
