I'm wrighting an essay on Julius Caesar. the topic being, do you think Caesar had any responsbility for his own death? why or why no? I believe not, but I must mention the other side's point of view. So I would love to read your thoughts.

Yes. Throughout history men, individually or en mass, have stood against a dictator or king or single ruler if they threatened the greater good of the most people. J.C. was the elected leader of Rome but when he sought to make himself effectively King he was saying the people no longer matter it is what I want that matters. His death reflects, like many, the assaignation of an idea not so much the person's punishment or personality or evil deeds.

Justified is a meaningless term.

Of course he had some responsibility. He was a powerful man who created many political enemies. This lead to his death. Where is the surprise?
