Discounting all the physical difficulties that can come with having a child later in life, I would have to say the absolute latest that I would have a child is 30-35. The reason for this is simple. When my mother was born, her mom was already in her fourties, she could not run and play with my mom and her younger sister like the moms of her friends. By the time the grand babies were born, she was so old and frail we got no time with her. I have one memory of my grandmother, of her lying in a casket when I was 4. I don't want that to be the only memory of me that my grandkids have.

I think that if a woman is healthy and has a family history of long life, than age doesn't really matter. If a woman is older and has love to give, why not have a baby later in life?

I think the latest should be 40 and this is pushing it. The risk of child developmental abnormalities increases starting at the age of 36.

I would say there is no "one" answer. She should look at a multitude of factors:
how fertile is her mom, grandma etc. That will determine if she Should wait.
How old was her oldest female relative when she was pregnant?
How is the older family faring? Do they live to the ripe old age of 70+ or peter out at 60?
I would say 40 would be my absolute limit (but I had my first at 22, so 40 seems like almost grandma age for me!!)

I think about 40 should be the oldest mother. Otherwise, the risks are too high for the mom and baby.
I had a child at 38 and that was really tough. And, now that she is a teen she thinks that I am too old.
Think about it first. Being an older mom zaps your energy.

I decided for myself that if I was gonna have one, I'd do it before 25, when the risk of birth defects and complications is lowest, when I still had the energy to deal with a small child, when I had a better chance of getting my figure back, and before I got serious about my career.
But you know, for other people, I think they know best when the time is right for them to have kids. I sure am glad my mom had my brother after 40; he's a great kid.

As long as she is healthy I think if a woman wants to have a baby she absolutely should.
I am going to be 36 next month and am now currently pregnant with my 2nd son :) and plan to have more
