I think the Red Wings look pretty tough. I've been watching a lot of the games from the different series', and the Red Wings and the Sabres look impressive. San Jose also looks tough, but I don't thick they will get past the Red Wings. Before the playoffs even started I was thinking that a good finals series would be between Detroit and Buffalo - well they both made it through the first round. But there's lots of great great hockey left. Anything can happen. I love this time of year..!!

I think Detroit will at least go 6 with next round due to the fact that Hasek has to play all the games. But what people don't realize is Hasek got a $450,000 bonus for making it past the 1St round and he will get another $450,000 if he makes it to the finals, and if he wins the cup he gets and additional $250,00. That is $200,000 more than what he made during this season. Hasek will do what he can to get to the finals and if the euro twins start to perform like they can. I am not saying they have done terrible because Datsyuk has 3 goals and 2 assist and Zetterberg has 2 goals and an assist. Zetty is just getting started from the long break he had. So yeah I feel fine with Detroit going further in the playoffs. They did beat San Jose in league play 3 games to 1. But San Jose has 2 awesome lines that click very well. If we can shut them down Detroit will be fine.

i am a redwings fan and believe if they keep playing the way they are playing right now they have a very good shot at the cup.i really don't think they struggled last night, goal tending was just great by both teams.i hope it comes down to redwings and the sabres.my husband is a sabres fan and i have had to listen all season to how buffalo beat the redwings in the one game they played at the beginning of the season.i think both of these teams are great and it would make a very good cup race!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I don't think they struggled at all last night, with the exception of about half the second period. They totally dominated that game. Credit Mikka Kipprusoff for making that game much closer than it should have been. And the fact is that EVERYONE struggled at Calgary all year. They were hard to beat at home, regardless of who they played.
That said, it is all up in the air. The west is really tough this year. The Wings could pull it off, but I won't be betting my kids on it. I think the pretenders are all gone, and it is anyone's game now. Injuries and the ability to execute will be the difference, and there is no way to predict that.

Yeah.........I know what you are saying.
All year I have watched and kinda scratched my head.....My brother is a ST Louis Blues fan (thats my other club) and I said to him....."man they look sloppy....." and he said well Detroit has a winning attitude. We have had more skilled clubs.....we seem to be a hodgepodge.......but its working. Its called a "TEAM"
and I think that is why we will do well in playoffs. Will we hoist the cup? I honestly don't know. Do I want us to? Ya Betcha!!!
Lots of good clubs out there.....Sabres are hot, SJ is good...never underestimate the Devils or the Ducks...and what about those Rangers? I do not count anyone out until they are gone. I just love this time of year!!

I thought they played strong hockey from what I saw in the Calgary series. If you matchup against the Sharks in the second round you have four lines to worry about, not just two.

Their big struggle seemed to be against Kipursoff, but that being said they did the right thing, and just shot the puck on net. If it hadn't been for their goalie, Calgary may not have lasted as long as they did.
