Yes, it is a common fantasy.
Your mate may not want to do it in reality, or even hint at it, but a lot of men so see multiple sexual partners as a sexual fantasy. There is a long distance between a fantasy and reality. You don't want to do it unless you are comfortable about it and unless you are sure that it won't damage your relationship.
Think about if from the male point of view. If a man is so virile that he can satisfy two women at once then that is proof of he sexual ability. Having sex with two women is a fantasy, but some fantasies are meant to remain only ideas.
IF you wanted to fulfill this fantasy then who would be the other woman? How would you be sure that he wouldn't take this as a clue that he can mess around with the other woman? How would you feel if he is giving his attention to the other woman and not you? Would you want a similar fantasy of your own?
Most men would not like to share one woman in a three-some. It would be a competition for who can stay erect the longest, who has the longest, and who can give you the most pleasure. Then your partner is going to be worried that you might prefer the other man, that this could be a signal for you to have sex outside of your relationship and so on.
Many men also have a fantasy about two women making love where the guy gets to watch and later he can join in. Again this is a fantasy and it has a lot of dangers attached to it.
IF you want to do this then the best way to do it might be with a description of what the other woman could do to you. Keep it just the two of you, but you can fulfill part of the fantasy by using your imagination.
Warning; there is a fine line between fantasy and obsession. If you fulfill your partner's fantasy, whatever it is, then you might trigger an obsession. If the idea of the fantasy starts to intrude in your relationship outside of the bedroom and if he seems to only want to have sex with this fantasy then it is turning into an obsession and that can open the door for a lot of problems.
I have heard that some women have a fantasy about being raped by their lover. However, an actual rape is one of the most devastating things that can happen to a woman. It is not a matter of sex, but a violation of the woman’s most personal and private area. It is like that dream of being nude in front of an audience squared! While many women may have this fantasy, very few of them actually WANT to act it out.
Personally I fantasize about having sex with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, not the actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, but her former character. This is an impossible fantasy to fulfill so I am happy to let it remain a fantasy. If I started writing Ms. Gellar, if I tried to meet her, if I started stalking her then it would have moved from a fantasy to an obsession. I haven’t done anything more than collect some of her pictures and I never would do anything more than that. This is a case where a fantasy will always remain one and it is best if I don’t try to create it.
Fantasies can be fun. Light bondage, sexy costumes, wigs, toys, pretending to be a baby and so on are a few examples. But, once you open the door to creating a fantasy make sure it is a door that can be closed later and make sure that whatever is behind that door doesn’t try to come out into the real world.

If you mean "fantasize", then yes, some do. Just like some women will do about other men. Depends on the individual.
