I am not 100% positive but what I believe was the first school built in the (now) United States was in St. Augustine, Florida. Which is also known as the very first city of (now) the United States. I have actually visited the tiny school house and it may have only fit about 20 students of all different ages. This would have been around the late 1500s. If you are interested in history and get a chance you should definitely visit St. Augustine... Pretty interesting.
