...long for someone to concoct a theory of evolution ?

All you have to do is look at chimps, apes or even some of my colleagues at work to see that, although not quite human, they're almost there.

Because people didn't want to believe it, first of all. Also because the idea that different species could be related to each other at all was unknown--Darwin pretty much came up with it. And most people back then (and a surprisingly large, stubborn, vocal minority now) believed that God created everything 4000 years ago just like it is now, meaning a) there hasn't been time for evolution and b) apes were always apes and humans were always humans.

That's a nice way of comparing your work mates, beware they maybe thinking the same about you.

If we eat more apples a day our head crown will enlarge more, then tapering too the apex of the chin combining with thinner face aging lines with enormous black eyes like the cartoon images of a extrapolate look alike aliens.

This will take the rest of the time of evolution. The ape theory is that they didn't like apples in them days and preferred bananas.

I don't think that it took as long as we think. The problem is not just thinking of the theory but publishing it. Darwin did not publish for many years because as a christian he did not want to offend the church and it was not until Wallace said he wanted to publish the results of his work that Darwin agreed to that they would publish jointly. Even then in the Origin of Species he did not mention humans. No doubt there were many intelligent people who had worked it out prior to Darwin but dare not make their ideas public. So to answer your question it was probably the church that held back any research in this field as it has done in many other fields

I'll tell you this; We are told our DNA is 98% the same as apes but that represents 1600 differences. It also suggests that apes have been researched as much as man, but they haven't. Apes do not have a voice box nor the part of the brain for speech. We are also 78% the same as a banana, is that your rellie?? No of course not. Look up creation research for an answer. Even carbon dating is a fraud but they won't tell you that because people are making a good living out of it. We can find apples of every colour and shape but if you plant a seed from one of them what do you get?? Answer, an apple tree so where is the evolution now.

You could say that about most scientific theories. Why did it take so long for someone to come up with the theory of gravity? I mean, it would seem that as soon as someone could think, they would come up with gravity. But scientific things are not actually as ingrained as you might think.

Even with evolution, some people just dont want to change. Which can be benificial to others as it makes them feel better about themselves.
