My current job is ok, but I have been here for 2 years and have not seen a raise, not even cost of living. I have moved from department to department and trained new employees who make more money than me!! i dont see this as fair, and I am a great employee who never complains, I am at work on time, and i get my work done. After being thrown into yet another position adn gave me only one day of training for it. I f I mess up on anything, no matter how small it is, they lecture me about accuracy!! I dont enjoy my job and I am underpaid!! I have an interview for this week set up at a company that is a block away!! Should I let my boss know that I have an interview and i need to take an hour off or should i just say i need an hour fro personal time/ I have a feeling that if i tell them they will offer me a raise, which would be nice, but thats how this company is, you only get what you want or deserve if its the last resort, who wants to work for a company like that?

No - avoid telling your boss. Have your references lined up & see how the interview goes before you say anything.

You are doing the right thing by looking for another job. It sounds like a very political place so it's best to keep your plans to yourself for as long as possible.

don't tell them u have an interview---if u don't get the job ur old employer will think u are damaged goods and he can exploit u endlessly. if u get a job offer from the other place (for more $) you could use it to negotiate a raise at your current job but sounds like you should think about moving on.

Just say you need some time off for personal reasons.

Let me make something clear to you. You don' t get what you want or deserve, you get what you negotiate.

Go get an offer from that other company. It looks like you left you present co take advantage of you. Time to move on.

If you are unhappy at your job, you should discuss this with your boss and explain why. If they (he) just gives you lip service, then go look for another job. Do not discuss this with your current employer. When you get the new job, quit your old job. If at that time they counter offer, you should consider it, only with the caveat that it took the act of quiting to get their attention.
