I used to have recurrent bad dreams, sort of "Freddy Kruger" style. (Just dreams though ;-) And I would always wake up frightened until one day I thought, "Wait a minute! They're MY dreams, in MY mind; I can do whatever I want to in them."

After that, as I would fall asleep, I would picture myself solving a problem that had come up in a previous dream and before I knew it I was taking an active part.

Now, if something happens in a dream that I don't like, I just change the circumstances, surroundings, people, you name it. For instance, if a car goes over a cliff, I blink in a supersize parachute or build a bridge in 2 seconds. It's a dream; the possibilities are absolutely endless!

though we have limited control over our dreams, dreams occur in the mind, so therefor it is possible to control your dreams to some extent.
like if you are having a bad dream, telling yourself in your mind that you want it to stop, sometimes works for me.

im not sure really how to control dreams, but it is possible.

just my opinion. hope this helps.

controlling dreams is rare and short lived. test have showed that those who have tried will wake up seconds after realizing they are asleep. because the only way to control a dream is know while dreaming that you are indeed dreaming which will trigger your brain to wake up.

yes you can!
well it's not easy and will not happen tonite or even a month from now!
first you have to keep a dream journal!
dreamjournal.com is a great site to do that at...
write down how you feel in the dream write down what you remember from it!
next
once you are doing this logging of journal on a steady regular basis then you can start to control more of what you can dream about! i know this step my seem pointless but you will be amazed at the results if you do this step!!! i did it both way now i keep a journal! it's amazing!!!!
but after that you want to tell yourself to wake up after each dream prior to falling asleep!
now you will wake up duiring the nite!!! get use to it!
now this is really silly but it works!
during your normal day ask your self out loud on the hour ever waking hour! "Am i dreaming?" if you answer then your not dreaming! you do this so that hour that you fall asleep your sub consions will ask yourself am i dreaming you won't respond or you will respond to wow i'm in my dream and i see that i ma dreaming!
This takes lots and lots of work! but don't give up!
oh and it can disapear in a sec.. then you have to start all over!
it's a lot of work but well worth it if you ask me!

Yes but it takes a lot of effort. First you do exercises to remember your dream, then exercises to become aware of when you are dreaming, and finally you exert your will to change the dream and take increasing control of it.

Book reference is one by Orpheal.

When I was married I had a nightmare every single night. I thought I was screaming out once in a while. I finally asked my then husband how often did I scream out in my sleep and he said every night now for many years. I figured out that the dreams were different but always my husband was there and ignored me and the kids and never helped us in the dreams.

My counselor told me that right before I close my eyes to go to sleep to talk to myself and tell myself that I can take care of my children and myself. I told my self that I didn't need my husband to take care of me and the kids. I could do it myself. The nightmares ended that night. If they started up again I started to talk to myself again and the dreams go away.

That shows the power of the mind concerning dreams.
BTW I divorced the guy.

I just do. I know I am dreaming and can control it however I see fit. There's no method that I know of. I am simply aware and in control.

Persons have a limited control over their dreams - thoughts and aspirations. If it is something that God does not want for you, then there is no way you will have control over it.

If you want to, you can, it takes practice, but why would you want to control them? 99% of what makes dreams cool is that they're some of the strangest things to try and explain.

I've heard that if you ask yourself a question, for example "Am i going to pass the history test tomorrow?" and if you think about it for a few minutes, that your consciousness or something will help you to dream about that question.
