The John Cotton hotel in Derbyshire uk - the owner had a bent back, was all hair and teeth and beckoned us with a hand gesture to the reception desk ...without saying a word booked 4 of us in and beckoned us up to our creaky rooms, in silence - through this corridor and that, while we all chewed our cheeks and tried desperately to keep our shoulders from shaking with laughter.....for 2 days he never said a word until we were checking out when he said ''aye'll be seeing YOU soon'' ..........arrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

In my head under the influence of LSD. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone as it is dangerous, but it was definitely the weirdest place I've been. I saw lots of impossible geometries like something out of an Escher-esque world.

Cookeville, Tennessee. My husband and I were travelling from Texas to Virginia and booked a Holiday Inn in Cookeville. We decided to have dinner at the Pizza Hut next door.

People were acting odd, really odd. They were staring at us and staring at us and staring at us. They smiled strange smiles and walked strange walks. When some of them opened their mouths, their mouths stayed open...and there were no teeth. Some came closer to get a better look at us. They mutttered jibberish.

It was like being in the Twilight Zone or the darned Outer Limits. We ate fast and got the hell out of there.

The camp i was based at in salisbury plains, not in itself. But "Stonehenge" was just across a couple of fields from us what was strange was the amount of people who turned up for the 'summer solstice' and didn't really know anything about it.

What a view to wake up to every morning eh ?!?!
