Then my marriage would be illegal. I was 26 and my husband was 20 when we got married and we definitely have a valid marriage license.
Maybe in a different country what this dude is saying is true, but there are no marriage laws in the US regarding age difference. Both parties in the marriage just have to be at an age that is legal to marry in that state.

If he's 19 and you're 16, yeah, that's illegal. But that's only because it is considered an adult and a minor.
Once both people are adults, they can marry with any kind of gaps in ages. I'm married to a man three years younger than I am. Anna Nicole Smith was once married to someone more than twice her age.

If you are 17, you may not marry a 13-year-old, LOL.
If you're both of legal age, then, yes, you may marry. By the way, marriage laws differ among the states. In some states you can marry your first cousin, and in others, you can't.

It is illegal only if she is 18 and he is 15.
If he is 18 and she is 15, I think it's legal in some states ....

Assuming you are both adults, one can be 18 and the other 80. It's perfectly legal in all 50 states if you are different genders; and in one state it's legal if you are the same gender.

As long as both of you are of "the age of majority" (typically 18) it's legal to marry whoever the heck you want to. You could even marry him if he was 30 years older than you (i.e. Anna Nicole Smith).

It is legal as long as that person or you are over the age of 18. Though my opinion is it shouldn't matter because, if the two love each other, does it matter?

Only if one of you is underage, which depends on the state your getting married in.
I was 24 when I married my wife, who was 27. The infamous Anna Nicole was a little wider apart with her ex-husband!
