I am going on a trip tomorrow and started to take two birth control pills at the same time someone told me that it works. I am not really on my period I am just having breakthroughs and I have been on those for about 5 days now. Is there anything else I can try?

It's possible to skip your period, but taking two pills at the same time won't do it.

If you want to skip your period you need to take the first three weeks worth of pills like you normally would. Then, instead of starting the placebo pills (or "sugar pills") you have to start a new pack of birth control.

This is totally safe and women have been doing it forever. In fact, the very first kinds of birth control were made so a women didn't get her period. A lot of women didn't like this because they were never sure if they were pregnant or not, since they didn't get their period. So, they came up with the ones like we have today.

Good luck!

Deal with it, your period will not leave if you take two pills. And don't look at the pill calendar, you can get it at any time, and if you are new to this pill you will need some time to have your body get used to it before counting on your period to come when the pill wants you to.

If you are just spotting, keep on taking the BC pills every day until you return from your trip. By tomorrow you shouldn't be bleeding at all. Only hormones like oral contraceptives can stop vaginal bleeding. The other option would be a surgical procedure called a D&C [dilatation and curettage]; but it isn't done without good reason [like profuse vaginal bleding that doesn't stop using hormones, or to terminate a pregnancy], and it involves anesthesia risks plus a one-day hospital stay {too extreme for just a trip, don't you think?}.

I've never heard of that, but you can skip a period by taking your first 3 weeks of one pack, and then not taking the last week placebos. Start your next month pack without a break and you won't get it. But you may still get cramps and spotting. I really don't think you can take 2 at a time to prevent it.
