Ok, your Top 5 will do! I'm looking to put absolutely THE BEST songs onto a 2Gb SD card for playing in-car. What would YOU suggest? From "Gimme Shelter" by The Rolling Stones to the likes of Union Underground & Papa Roach. The best Top 5 (at least) will go on the card!

Gosh, I'd forgotten how many good songs there are out there like The Wildhearts, Lenny Kravitz & White Zombie. Am SO glad I asked this question now! I'd like a good spread across the past 50 or so years (basically since Elvis onwards) so 60's and late-50's stuff would be appreciated too. Apart from the Stones and maybe Cream (possibly Pink Floyd) there weren't too many rock bands in the 60's, perhaps The Doors. I need the inspiration to fill 2Gb!!!

Okey dokey! Lets go:

1 - Sweet Dream by Jethro Tull. A great song, classic rock at its best. Try to get the live version from the "Bursting Out" album as it has a far heavier rock element than the original version.
2 - End Of All Hope by Nightwish. About the best mix of Scandinavian metal and operatic vocals you will find. One of the best songs by this band and very, very good.
3 - Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones. I don't think this one needs explaining.
4 - My Wound Is Deeper Than Yours by For My Pain... An obscure band that has only released one album ("Fallen") but certainly worth finding. This track combines a lot of the classic metal of Rainbow and the like with the strong melodic elements of Scandinavian metal and a definite 80's hard rock touch to it too.
5 - Saint Teresa by Blackmore's Night - a cover version of the Joan Osbourne song done by the master of guitars Richie Blackmore and his beautiful fiancee Candice Night. A lot less medieval than many of their other songs this tune combines a top performance by one of the greatest guitarists in rock with fantastic vocals.

So there you go, I could probably fill out all 300 songs for you but I think the five I have chosen are a good mix. I went for a range of sounds and styles, some heavy, some melodic, some classics and some more obscure.
I love rock music and I hope you will love my choices!
