How severe is a 3.1? What would this feel like?

Please see the chart for energy release for each Richter scale. For 3.1 if you are 100 kilometers way from epicenter you will feel only .1 mm shake. Only people at deep concentration can feel it. The amount of shaking which normally we feels depends upon not only the magnitude ,it also connected with the distance.

Not very, sort of like a heavy truck rumbling by about 10 feet from your house.

It's not all that severe. You'll feel it, and it might rattle a few windows, but it doesn't cause damage to structures.

You might not even notice it. it is very weak. A slight rattle at most.

If u were doing any thing moving u would not notice it.

you wouldn't feel it unless you are not moving, and are in a quiet room(you will hear small things shaking).
