I am VERY SURE that there is an electronic device hidden in my house that is recording my every move and conversation. Where can I look for it? My mom has a court date for divorce against my mentally unstable, irrational, and abusive father, who I believed placed the device, but it's not until mid-June. He lives in the house, but my mom can't get a court order to get him out because his abuse is verbal, not physical. I don't want anything recording me while he is out of the house and I'm talking to my mother and siblings.

You should check all the heating vents. When my sister got a divorce from her crazy ex that's what he did. They were noise activated. She was really confused @ how he could know about her conversastions because he didn't live at home any more. Well she caught him one night down in the basement getting his tapes. Don't know if this is where any devises are in your house but worth a shot. Good Luck!

P.S. If you find any thing save it!! Give it to your mothers lawyer to use as evidence against him. It is against the law to record people's conversations with out them knowing.

If you are that sure, you need to get you an RF bug detector and scan your house. Most electronic bugging devices use RF and can be easily pinpointed with several RF bug detectors. Eavesdropping and phone taps are illegal unless they are ordered by the court, so if you can find one or more and prove he placed them, you may have your way of getting him out of the house.

You cannot record without a persons permission. In other words, anything he records is not admissable in court.By the way, there is a device sold by Radio Shack that detects recording devices or bugs.

Hire a private investigator to come do a sweep. Or, if the bug was placed illegally (ie without your permission or without a court order) call the police and let them have a look.

Look in all the phone jacks for something that looks like an answering machine, could be recording phone calls?

Encourage your mom to be the one to leave.

A bug could be anywhere. Get a bug detector. Go to any spy sight.
