there's a couple of females that come to mind. number one would have to be KT Tunstall. check out her album "eye to the telescope". it's undbelievable. number two, regina spektor, she uses a little more electronics in her music, but she is still a fantastic artist. If you want to lean a little more on the jazzy side, you could check out norah jones. Or you could check out sheryl crow(preferably her old stuff).
