Verizon still has the largest network, so you'll get a good signal in more places. If you travel a lot, you'll want Verizon.
If you pretty much stay in your city, and when you travel, you usually fly to another large city, instead of driving through areas that might have bad signal, then it doesn't matter. Both have great signal in Metropolitan areas. In that case just go with whoever has the best call plans.

I've had Cingular, and I have Verizon. If you want a cellphone company that gives you more minutes for cheap that would be T-Mobile. Because if you constantly communicate over the phone you need those minutes. I had 1500 Minutes for $40 bucks! Then I got the family share plant from Verizon and had to cutt my T-Mobile. :( But if it's absolutely between Verizon and Cingular then I'd chose Verizon, Cingular does provide that roll over option but that's if and only if you don't yap your butt off. Plus Verizon has better connection than Cingular.

the razr V3 is a high quality phone, great choice! as far as services go...Verizon uses a CDMA technology that allows you to go into more rural areas and still have great call quality whereas Cingular is GSM based calling and is only good for metropolitain areas and along major highways..Consumer reports rated Cingular low on every count; pick up one of those magazines and check it out. You forgot to mention Alltel! Between Verizon and Alltel (they use each others towers) they both cover the nation(about 96%) and both have very good calling plans to fit every lifestyle. Consumer reports rated Verizon and Alltel #1 and #2 respectively in every category. Hope this helps!

I used to have Cingular, I hated it. I now have Verizon for the past 3 years and love it. I definitely think it's the best service.

Verizon typically has the better service but it depends on what area you are in.
Verizon is also know for having better customer service than Cingular
(We should all make more of an effort to not give the Evil Empire, AT&T our business)

I haven't had any problems with cingular. They always have the latest phones which is what attracted me to them in the first place. Cingular rocks! Service is usually great!

it all depends on how many minutes you need the service you require, and if its personal or with a company. cingular has rollover, which is useful, but i know more people with verizon, and verizon to verizon is free for me. but so is cingular. both services are very reliable. but it is cheaper for me to have verizon.
